WILL I LOSE WEIGHT IF I START WORKING OUT?

In short the answer is no.

We wish it could, I also wish that eating an unfavourable food made you gain weight straight away and eating favourable foods made you lose weight right away but just like the title of this blog, it’s wishful thinking.

So what should you do if you want to lose weight?

Firstly, you don’t need to make mammoth changes in fact, big changes come from lot and lots of small changes over time. I would first start with food. No you don’t need cut things out or start weighing and measuring, it shouldn’t feel like a big change remember otherwise we won’t be able to stay consistent.

Your first 3-5kgs can come off inside a month if you do this;

  • Eat 800g of fruits and vegetables daily.

You don’t need to overcomplicate this, I can already hear you asking, should I workout as well whilst I focus on this? What about protein, everyone says I should eat protein at breakfast? What if I eat more than 800g in a day? What about fat do I need more fat in my diet?

Focus on one thing, the skill is increasing your daily intake of fruits and vegetables. You can eat Ice cream, drink alcohol, you don’t need to change anything, you need to ADD MORE VEG AND FRUIT TO YOUR CURRENT DIET.

Next you need ;

  • To be okay with eating more food in order to lose weight

I say this because the most common method for weight-loss is energy in vs energy out. People restrict and cut food from their diet, see quick results and then put it all back on again in a matter of weeks. Eating more fruit and vegetables targets two things.

  1. Tackles nutrient defeciency which often lies at the root cause of you not being able to lose weight consistently.
  2. Encourages your metabolic rate to increase helping you to burn more calories at rest through increased volume of nutrient dense foods.
